The correlation between some structural properties of IV materials with compression stress

چکیده
Lattice constant, density, total energy, cohesive energy, bulk modulus, microhardness, Young modulus, speed of sound, energy of acoustic phonons, plasmon energy and vibrational energy, for diamond, silicon, germanium, and gray tin, all have been calculated and studied when compression stress is exerted. It is found that most of them increase with pressure except the lattice constant which decreases and the vibrational energy behaves in different ways depending upon the matter. The bulk modulus is suggested to correlate to the lattice constant in every change with pressure and it had been regarded in all other properties' calculations. This correlation is used as simple formula as well as new simple formula had been suggested for plasmonpressure relation.

The Structural Relationship Between Topological Indices and Some Thermodynamic Properties
The fact that the properties of a molecule are tightly connected to its structural characteristics is one of the fundamental concepts in chemistry. In this connection, graph theory has been successfully applied in developing some relationships between topological indices and some thermodynamic properties. So , a novel method for computing the new descriptors to construct a quantitative rela...

متن کاملEvaluating Pile Yarn Characteristics in Hand Woven Carpet using Stress-Strain Behavior in Compression
Many factors such as production methods and structural parameters have distinctive influence on the quality and performance of a hand woven carpet. To investigate the effects of some variables, eighteen samples of carpet vary, in knot density, pile height and percentage of slipe wool, were manufactured. Pile yarn performance was assessed by using load-displacement compression curve, obtained fr...

متن کاملInvestigation of Stress-Strain Behavior of Plastic Concrete Using Monotonic Triaxial Compression Tests
In this paper, the mechanical behavior of plastic concrete being used in the cut-off walls of earth dams has been studied. To do the task, triaxial compression tests on the specimens in various ages and mix designs under different confining pressures have been done and the stress-strain behavior of such materials and their strength parameter changes has been experimentally investigated. It has ...
